21 KiwiSDR2 Independent SDR Network Receiver Created by New Zealand ham John Seamons, ZL4VO/KF6VO, the easy-to-use and feature-rich KiwiSDR2 is a standalone SDR receiver that operates from 10 kHz-30 MHz, encompassing VLF to HF bands. This latest version includes an enhanced RF front end and the addition of a digital attenuator. Users can expect improved processing speed and reception over its predecessor. The KiwiSDR2 attaches to your local network and is accessed with a browser application on the LAN or via the Internet. The SDR comes pre-installed with the OpenWebRX web interface and features an integrated GPS receiver (used, among other functions, to calibrate the SDR frequency). Most other SDRs generate raw IQ data and need to be connected directly to a PC or laptop running OS-specific, installed soft ware. The KiwiSD2R supports up to four simultaneous connections, each with their own independently controlled audio and waterfall channels. Up to four users can log on to the KiwiSDR2 at the same time and work completely independently of each other over the entire 30 MHz bandwidth. Setup process involves connecting the GPS antenna, power leads, an Ethernet cable to the home network and an antenna. Once powered on, users can access the device via a local IP or Internet proxy.
