Backspacing This is the distance between the back of the rim fl ange and the mounting pad (where the hub attaches). Here’s how to measure yours: 1. Take a wheel off your car and lay it on a fl at surface with the back (the side that faces the brakes) facing up. 2. Lay a straightedge across the wheel and measure down to the mounting pad; you may have to defl ate the tire to do this. That measurement (A in diagram) is your backspacing. Bolt Pattern Also called the bolt circle, this is an expression of the number of wheel studs and the distance between them. To measure your bolt pattern, pick the illustration that represents your wheel stud pattern and measure as described. Offset This is the distance (in millimeters) between the mounting pad and the centerline of the wheel. Most of the wheels we sell have negative offset (“dished in”), which is what most rear wheel drive vehicles use. Front wheel drive vehicles tend to use positive offset (“dished out”) wheels.
